University College Shah Putra (UCSA) was in the beginning Institut Fitra in 1997. UCSA is fully owned by the Shahputra Education Sdn Bhd. In the initial stage, UCSA rented 2, three storey buildings in Kuantan. The building has 2 lecture room, 1 computer lab and 1 office.
Preparation
University College Shah Putra offers courses tailored to the current employment market. One of the courses offered in Nursing. You can apply online for the course in UCSA. UCSA has the best facilities for Diploma in Nursing and Undergraduate Degree in Nursing. Those who are interested to apply must be professional and avoid being self-centred which will jeopardize others and the person itself. Nursing profession requires teamwork and full commitment. Nurses must be patient because you need to entertain all type of patients and their family members. You need to be daring to face emergency situations such as accidents.
Diploma In Nursing
Diploma in Nursing, UCSA started in 2008. Duration of the course is 6 semesters (3 years) and the structure of the course fulfils the need of Nursing Board Malaysia and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). UCSA does not only teach theory, the students are given opportunity in practical teaching where the graduates are exposed to the real scenario of nursing profession. The students can choose between government or private hospitals to do their practical. During the 6 semesters UCSA students are taught psychology, sociology, nutrition etc.
The minimum requirements in University College Shah Putra
- SPM/SPMV with 5 credits including Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and one of the Science subjects (physics, Chemistry, Biology, science) any other subjects.
- Pass English
- Pass Medical Examination
- Pass an interview session conducted by the Faculty of Nursing

Students placed in University College Shah Putra at that time were UPM TESL students and UPM Account Matriculation students totalling 107 in June 1998. Realising the rapid increase of students the institute established by Dato’ Dr Haji Azman bin Abd Ghanie started building its own premises in Pekan, Pahang. Align with the relocation the institute changed its name to College Shahputra, idea given by Ministry of Education.
